On the grounds of the German Hat Museum in Lindenberg, visitors can walk through 300 years of hat fashion and discover familiar, interesting and curious items with regard to the topic of headgear. The former Ottmar Reich Hat Factory highlights three varying topics such as hat-making, hat fashion and the “Hat Town” of Lindenberg on an accessible area of almost 1,000 m². The high-quality interactive stations invite visitors to try things out and marvel. At four different stations the visitors can be active themselves and comprehend the production steps of hat-making. The history of industrious homeworkers, courageous hat dealers and powerful factory owners will be presented in fifteen different and precisely manufactured display cabinets featuring concave or convex safety glazing. The backlit light boxes of the display cabinets ensure an individual and modern presentation of exhibits. Images and videos matching the corresponding display cabinet furnishings will be shown. The exhibits will be tastefully featured on exhibit holders as well as unobtrusive aluminium holders, and skilfully placed in the scene via chronologically matching walking sticks or striking paddles. The hat production display cabinet with an outer dimension of almost 7 by 7 metres presents the fascinating realm of hat-making with demonstrating exhibits. In the inside of the hat production area, a film projection which is projected without reflection directly on the glazing will be activated by means of a switchable, special glazing when visitors enter the inside. Well-known as well as famous hat wearers can be discovered in the “hat tornado”. This reflects the elegance and the precision of the overall processing in the fields of metal construction, glass construction and carpentry. Source (in extracts): www.deutsches-hutmuseum.de
